Born to Play

What can I say? As soon as my hands were big enough to hold my grandfathers mandolin I became fixated on becoming a guitar player. My first introduction to popular music was from a small transistor AM radio that played 60s and early 70s soft pop but my ears really perked up when I was introduced to FM radio hard rock. Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Rush, Max webster, Triumph, Hendrix and then Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden just to get started. This was the music that ignited the fire me and eventually gravitated me to realize my passion for playing bass. Starting out as a guitar player was great and I was pretty good at it but there were never enough Bass players around and when one became available they were always just short of being good enough. I could never find a bassist that could outplay me on bass. Eventually I had an opportunity to play bass to help a band called Zynom who had a show lined up and needed a bass player. From that day on my phone didn't stop ringing with opportunities to play with some of the best local Toronto musicians around and that lead me to years of touring and many live performances. More recently I put my mind and actions toward finding the best suitable musicians available to form the band BERIXTON. It was a great band with amazing musicians who are all great guys. We played exceptionally well together and had loads of fun but my main goal was to record original music. The guys were really great but they were more interested in learning covers so we could go play local bars and events. So as much fun as it was, circumstances, schedules and living locations eventually affected availability and the band dissolved. I miss those days but this opened me up to a new opportunity. Different circumstances were working in my favour and I was able to hook up with a life long musical brother Ed Bernard to record a new song with him called Nested. You can listen to Nested on iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, and all the big music distribution sites but the best way to experience the best sound quality is to
click here and download it for a buck (or more if you choose)

ATOMIC SILVER STUDIO 47

I built a well equipped studio where I can be comfortable and productive and can record without having the pressure of watching the clock. I was hoping to do this with the band but I am enjoying the freedom of doing it all myself. My studio can be seen in the background of some of my videos.
